Consider yourself a joyful and friendly person if you’ve already started decorating for Christmas.
According to the Journal of Environment Psychology studies, people who put up their Christmas decorations earlier tend to be friendlier and happier.
“The results support the idea that residents can use their home’s exterior to communicate attachment and possibly to integrate themselves into a neighborhood’s social activities,” wrote on its website.
Christmas decorations, according to psychologists, are nostalgic, bringing people back to simpler and happier times. It is also said to boost the production of dopamine, known as the “feel-good” hormone.
In 2021, Filipino’s level of happiness tends to fall due to the pandemic. In the 2021 World Happiness Report, the Philippines fell to the 61st spot.
This has demonstrated that the COVID-19 has a widely shared resilience among most Filipinos, despite the fact that it has taken a toll on their emotions; yet, the country’s Christmas season celebrations appear to be unaffected.
And, as we all know, Christmas helps to bring back a little of the old Christmastime magic that we all remember as children and, perhaps unconsciously, still yearn for.
